PARADE - Saturday 28th February 2009
U.D.R. 2 Memorial Service and Parade
Ballymacarrett District LOL No 6 (East Belfast) hold an annual UDR 2 parade every year in memory of two members of our District who were killed by the IRA in 1988 while serving in the UDR. The parade will assemble in Templemore Avenue (beside Ballymacarrett Orange Hall on the Albertbridge Road) at 10am moving off at 10.15am on Saturday 28th February 2008. The parade will proceed into the city centre to attend a short open air service and wreath laying hosted by the churches connected to the families of the deceased brethren. The parade will then parade back the way it came to Ballymacarrett Orange Hall. Any brethren wishing to attend would be very welcome or if anybody happens to be in the city centre around that time its something to look out for. The service usually takes place a bit further down than Castlecourt which I believe is in and around where they were killed.
